Line Follower Sensor Module X1

The TCRT5000 Infrared Reflectance Sensor Module is designed for obstacle avoidance and line-tracking applications, commonly used in Arduino DIY projects. It operates by continuously emitting infrared light through an LED. When there is no object nearby, or the reflected light is too weak, the phototransistor remains off, resulting in a high output, indicating the LED is off.

When an object enters the detection range, the infrared light is reflected back strongly enough to saturate the phototransistor. This causes the module output to go low, indicating the LED is on.
